GRADUATION

Post by davislove »

BECAUSE I ADDED MORE PHOTOS [not exactly on-topic] TO MY POST YESTERDAY IN THE TIGHT SHORTS THREAD...it got me thinking and pondering about graduation; now i am talking about the college/university graduation and not the high school one albeit i will make a quick comment there.

when the tassels go up in the air, for the gals and they achieve their degrees in a way it finally severs that very last connection between 'child' and parents...I know legally it doesnt apply because that high school graduation celebration at or sometime that year they turn 18 years old IS the one that officially/legally ends the parents responsibility/guardianship. But in reality parents still feel VERY OBLIGATED and responsible to see their daughters thru graduation. I also say this in that their legal address is still with their parents; now they may be renting off-campus instead of a dorm room and have begun the transition of moving away from their parents and into independence but still their address is back home.

And so as i added some photos late yesterday and some here as well...i began thinking that for these young women- note no longer a child; they are full grown adult women  they face a more daunting task [than us guys in that same position] in that they have a professional career ahead PLUS finding a husband and creating/starting their own family....CERTAINLY A TALL ORDER AHEAD....SO AS YOU CONTEMPLATE THE FOLLOWING PICS SHOWING THESE 'BRAND NEW WOMEN' (NO MORE MOMMY AND DADDY'S 'DAUGHTERS') WITH THEIR BRIGHT ENERGETIC ATHLETIC SMILES LOOKING FORWARD TO THEIR ADULT LIVES...A TRUE MILESTONE LANDMARK BEING REACHED AS THEY LEAVE 'CHILDHOOD' behind them...no longer under the protection/fallback care of their parents to brave and make a new life for themselves and eventually bring a new newborn starting the cycle of life...i just came across a graduation photo showing my sister and my mom unfortunately yours trully and my DAD had a clothing store to run [couldnt attend] so that photo is probably what got me a little sentimental to write this piece/thread...

NOTE i am making it sound quite a bit more dire than it truly is for women after graduation; they will likely have a job/opening to go to to start that career and may likely have a boyfriend or guy as well; wether it turns serious or not thats to be seen so they start as adults with some support....so not as bad as i made it out to be

here are more related photos mostly from that same ASU sundevils source mentioned yesterday:

judging by the 4rth to last image...looks like their school's golf teams has earned some pretty serious hardware...i wonder if these gals can turn their golf's college scholarships into a pro career PLAYING THE LPGA TOUR????
[i havent searched their individual's names...but they look to be at or near 6foot tall]

PHOTOGRAPHER IS BASED OUT OF ST. LOUIS so i assume that high school is in a middle class/or affluent area of the city....interesting they all look to be older than high school graduates just by looking at them you would figure they look 'COLLEGE-AGED ' AT LEAST

COMMENTARY: JUST A REFLECTION...I STARTED ON THIS FORUM BACK IN '08...SINCE I AM NOT AN ORIGINAL 'FOUNDING MEMBER'...I HAVE ONLY SEEN THIS VERSION OF THE FORUM.....I'VE BEEN TOLD THAT THIS IS LIKE THE 3RD FORMAT AND ACCORDING TO HISTORY IT SHOWS AND I DO REMEMBER [SEEING IT]WHEN I SIGNED UP AT ANOTHER NOW DEFUNCT FORUM 4-5-6 YEARS EARLIER; I CAME FROM THERE HERE IN '08...WELL JUST THINK THAT THIS GAL WASNT EVEN BORN WHEN I FIRST GOT A COMPUTER BACK IN '98....IT TOOK ME A FEW YEARS TO MAKE IT ON TO THAT DEFUNCT FORUM-SHE WAS BORN BY THEN BUT STILL IN KINDERGATEN
JUST SHOWS HOW TIME FLIES AND MOST GALS THAT MOST OF US 'SENIOR' MEMBERS ARE NOW POSTING WERENT EVEN 'IN THE PICTURE/BORN' WHEN THIS FORUM WAS INAGURATED....I WOULDNT DOUBT THAT IN THE NOT-TOO-DISTANT FUTURE WE WILL SEE THE DAUGHTERS OF SOME OF THOSE POSTED EARLY ON IN THIS FORUM'S EXISTANCE....I AM SURE SOME HAVE BEEN POSTED ALREADY...JUST NO WAY OF TRACING WHO THEY ARE OR WHEN THESE 'MOMS' WERE POSTED-so yeah we might be seeing the daughters of those very early forum days of the existance of this forum....because this forum is now in its 3rd incarnation those pics are 'lost'. it would be a fitting category topic: moms@daughters of TPOWIS postings :P
