LOS ANGELES, Calif. --
A judge on Tuesday doubled Lindsay Lohan’s bail to $200,000 after finding the actress violated the terms of her release with an adverse report by an alcohol ankle monitor.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Marsha Revel determined Lohan was in violation after a closed-door meeting with the actress’ attorney and a prosecutor. Revel did not detail the violation, but said her decision was made after receiving “results” issued by a court-ordered alcohol monitor.

Lohan was not present in court Tuesday.

A source familiar with Lohan’s case told The Associated Press that the violation was reported after the “Mean Girls” star appeared at the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday night.

Lohan’s attorney, Shawn Chapman Holley, released the following statement to Access Hollywood on Tuesday, following the latest development.

“This morning Judge Revel was advised by a SCRAM representative that Ms. Lohan’s court-ordered alcohol bracelet had indicated the presence of a small amount of alcohol on Sunday night. Having just received the report, I am not in a position to speak to its accuracy or validity, however Ms. Lohan maintains that she has been in complete compliance with all of the terms of her probation and her bail. Bail has again been posted in Ms. Lohan’s case and she will continue to comply with all of Judge Revel’s orders,” Chapman Holley’s statement said.

Lohan Tweeted earlier on Tuesday a denial of the rumors her Scram went off.

“My scram wasn’t set off-Its physically impossible considering I’ve nothing for it to go off-All of these false resports (sic) are absolutely wrong,” she wrote.

Lohan has been required to wear the device since May, when she missed a court hearing. Lohan is due back in court on July 6, when Revel will decide whether Lohan has violated her probation.

Lohan, 23, is facing jail time if the judge determines she has failed to comply with the terms of her probation.

The actress has received multiple chances and admonishments from the court, which extended her probation in October by a year after Lohan struggled to complete the terms in time.

At the May hearing, Revel set Lohan’s bail at $100,000, which she revoked on Tuesday. The judge also issued a bench warrant for Lohan’s arrest, but that may be quashed if the actress is able to post the new bail amount.

It’s unclear what caused the monitor to report a problem — both a prosecutor and Chapman Holley said earlier Tuesday they were awaiting information about the device’s alert.

The bracelet is designed to test the skin for alcohol every half hour by sampling a person’s perspiration, and there are also sensors that check for tampering.

Lohan appeared at the MTV awards show on Sunday. She also attended at least one of the show’s after-parties.

She covered up the ankle monitor on the show’s red carpet by wearing long pants.

The actress has been on probation since August 2007 after pleading guilty to misdemeanor drug charges and no contest to three driving charges.

Despite spending 84 minutes in jail and performing mandatory service at the county morgue, Lohan has repeatedly struggled with the terms of her sentence. In October, a judge extended her probation for another year but Meyers warned the actress she was facing jail time if she violated her probation.

The extension was the third time Lohan escaped punishment after her alcohol-education program notified the court the actress had violated its rules. Two of the instances were described as misunderstandings; the third was chalked up to a busy work schedule.

Chapman Holley said Lohan missed the hearing last month because her passport had been stolen while the actress was at the Cannes Film Festival.

I doubt these photos are recent. {2 reasons: 1, she hasnt been in blond hair recently and 2, she has a court ordered ankle monititor...she would have a hard time unless those boots are very wide to hide them in}...Lohan appeared at the MTV awards show. She also attended at least one of the show’s after-parties.

Why is it funny she won't be provided leggings uniforms in jail? I don't think that funny. Maybe you spend some time in jail and see how funny you think it is. I have spent lots of time in jail.

Problems continue to mount for actor Lindsey Lohan and she may have to stand trial for theft of a $2,500 necklace that went missing last week from a Venice, Calif. jewelry store not far from her home. On Feb. 3 2011 the DA's office said the decision to lay charges have not yet been made.

The missing necklace was taken to police by someone connected to Lohan, TMZ reports that it was her stylist, after it became known the police were set to enforce a search warrant of her home to find it. The police did not reveal how they had been directed to investigate Lohan but the Los Angeles Times reported that a source informed them that Lohan was captured in a store video wearing the necklace shortly before it went missing.
Lohan said she did not steal the necklace but only borrowed it. A TMZ story quotes the owner of the store denying it was borrowed. A conviction could be costly for Lohan as she is on probation for a 2007 drunk driving conviction and was just released from the Betty Ford clinic in early January. She spent three months there in a drug rehab program, the fifth time she's been to drug rehab.
