Hi-de-ho, kiddies! Long time member, first time contributor! Here are some gnarly Phoenix cosplay photos I came across!

Not really Just like in the rest of the world there's only certain places/times/events where you'll see people in costume. I think most big Japanese events that have cosplay even have rules saying you mustn't travel to the event in costume, there are changing areas available at the site.

The photographer on those shots does quite a bit of cosplay work. He's also done a pretty awesome series of pictures called "Spacegirls", http://bukket1138.deviantart.com/gallery/10056625. It's been quite successful, there has even been a small show. Please note I haven't posted sample images out of respect for the artist; as these are original works I believe he would prefer them not being randomly reposted everywhere! Go and look though, you will not be disappointed

I was told several times that it is accustomed - or better said normal - to dress extraordinary. For asian teens, espacially japanese teens it is some kind of expression of the way of life. and it is quite normal to wear colorful spandex, fishnet pantyhose or irokese hair style. But, i was only told this - by a native asian. It may be wrong....
