The link at the top of this page...
Wow, I had no idea that was how cheerleaders dressed.
Shiny legs on a cheerleader outfit always does it for me - thought it only existed in the realm of 1992 Buffy:

Did I see it right? It looked to me as if the Eagles cheerleaders were wearing leggings instead of those cheesy-ass jazz pants. Correct me if I'm wrong. But I hope to You-Know-Who that we've seen the last of what I have long derided as "dike pants" on sports sidelines.

Yep. They wore the black ones with the white stripes. I'd seen these in seasons past. My favorite are the dark green leggings they wear on their chilly little legs. The Redskins cheerleaders wear red (Redskins red).

Not sure if anyone else has noticed, seeing that the Vikings play in a division that is dominated by Green Bay and Detroit, but the Minnesota cheerleaders have taken to wearing leggins now that the Metrodome has closed and the Vikings now play outdoors. On the highlights I saw today (Dec. 7), they wore leggings under boots in one half and leggings with shoes the other half. I prefer the tights under shoes

because the boots often look oversized and clumsy. Hope the Vikings cheerleaders have started a positive trend.

I've seen a few other NFL cheer teams go the same route, with leggings rather than jazz/yoga pants in colder climes. The Green Bay cheerleaders, which are actually more like a high-school/college team rather than a dance team, are probably using baggy jogging pants, which I don't blame them. Green Bay gets very cold late in the season. The Bears don't have a cheer squad.

Chicago once had the Honey Bears. But like the Steelers, the first NFL team to hire (and doscontinue) a cheerleading squad, the Bears got wise and did away with cheerleaders. Hey, if dance teams will still insist on wearing business casual crap instead of leggings, I would just as soon they stay off the sidelines. Most NFL teams still have their dance teams wearing those cheesy-ass jazz pants. They are still an eyesore.

There used to be a few indoor soccer leagues here in the U.S. It was all started in the early 1980s, where they played in hockey arenas and six aside.
