full story: 653 days ago, I was offered a job with Delta Airlines as a flight attendant. A job that over 200,000 people applied for and only 1% were selected. A job that would allow me to travel the world and work in an environment where anything can happen. In March of 2020, I was only 4 weeks away from starting training when the world stopped and everything was put on hold. While the “Covid pause” left many in the dark with what the future held, Delta was committed to honoring our offer. Finally, after a year and a half, I was off to Atlanta for 40 days of intense training. We learned how to evacuate an aircraft in 15 seconds, save a life with CPR/AED and operate doors of over 8 different aircraft. We learned how to serve wine at 40,000 ft...We prepared for a lifestyle that will include days away from home, time away from families and exhaustion across time zones.
