I'll always credit Cheryl Ladd as the first, as far back as 1977. At one time it was reported she had a whole closet of spandex.

Olivia is definitely the one that got me hooked on spandex. Because of her, I'd gone out and gotten a couple pairs of the disco pants, one black and one silver. I'd also gotten a couple pair of the disco shorts too. The pink ones were amazing. I've been at it since.
